ADD IN A PINCH OF.....LIGURIAN CUISINE
Hands-on and demonstration lesson with Chef Marianne Grasso.
Located midway between Portofino and Cinque Terre, the Abbadia San Giorgio is a magnificent setting for your hands-on cooking class focused on traditional Ligurian recipes.
Marianne Grasso, your teacher, has studied in both Switzerland and the United States for many years and draws on her knowledge of both languages and cultures to make her classes a unique and enjoyable experience.
Lesson will be based on well-known Ligurian recipes and menus always focus on the freshest seasonal ingredients, paying particular attention to pasta, fish and vegetables. Marianna's aim is to combine the cooking class with culture, traditions, habits and customs from which the cuisine has evolved.
Each lesson will last around 3/4 hours and features a complete menu.
Lesson starts about 8:30/9 a.m. with a visit of the Chiavari fruit and vegetable market or - Sundays - of Moneglia. Marianne will take you straight on a short tour to the wonderful outdoor market to gather items for your class, showing you herbs and other fresh ingredients to buy.
The hands-on and demonstration lesson will be followed by a "gourmet meal" either in our "Cenatio" dining room, or, weather permitting, on the outdoor cloister with a splendid view on lemon and olive trees and roses .

If you don't have enough time for a full culinary week or weekend, the best option is to add an "à la carte" cooking class.
Classes are on request for any day, year round, based upon availability, for a minimum of two and a maximum of eight participants. When a booking is confirmed for two people, it does not guarantee a private class.
Some classes are not offered on certain days or may have sold out dates.
If you are a solo traveller, you can join a class where others have already booked.
Cooking lesson one day Euro 165,-- per person , minimum 2 people
Cooking lesson two days Euro 300,-- per person, minimum 2 people
For booking of 4 people travelling together 5% discount.
